Our green spaces give Eastbourne its unique character. They give residents a safe place for leisure and recreation and break up the urban landscape. They also provide areas for wildlife to flourish especially bees which are important for our food chain.

Our aim by 2020 is to:

  • ensure that the character of our downland is maintained
  • have Eastbourne Park open as the largest publicly accessed green space in the town, with cycle paths that allow access from all areas of the town
  • have dedicated ‘green corridors’ that promote biodiversity and encourage bee-pollination you can view discussions here
  • have an active community ownership of parks under the ‘Friends of Parks’ scheme
