Food prices have risen by a third in the last five years.  This has been caused by increases in energy prices and droughts and floods that have damaged crops – which will continue as global warming makes chaotic weather a regular reality.

Our aim by 2020 is to:

  • ensure Eastbourne has a resilient food supply chain, especially for those on low incomes
  • ensure every household has access to locally grown food
  • have multiple community food growing areas
  • have community orchards
  • have a town-wide garden food share scheme
